STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics — four fields that help us understand how the world works and how to solve real-life problems. Through STEM, students learn to ask questions, explore ideas, test solutions, and think creatively. This article Easy STEM Activities is based on the children’s book: Sammie & Evie Run from a Storm.
Whether it’s building a bridge, coding a robot, studying the weather, or experimenting with magnets, STEM encourages curiosity, teamwork, and hands-on learning. It helps children develop the critical thinking and problem-solving skills they’ll need for the future — while having fun discovering how things work!
Easy STEM Activities 5 Days Weather Schedule is a hands-on learning plan that helps kids explore science, weather, and nature through fun, simple experiments and daily themes. It is perfect for homeschool, preschool, and classroom lessons focused on observation, language, and practical life skills.
Day 1 – Observation & Language: “Noticing the Weather”
Goal: Develop awareness of weather changes and build vocabulary.
Read the book Sammie & Evie Run From a Storm
Memorize the rhyme on what to pack.
Take a nature walk and observe signs of weather.

can gather items the fastest and go to a designated area.
Take your go-bags on a picnic or conduct a safety drill.
__________
Day 3 – Science & Geography: “The Power of Storms”
Goal: Explore natural forces through hands-on experiments.
STEM Challenge: Make a tornado jar storm using water and a small amount of dish soap. Optional ingredients are glitter or blue food coloring.
Locate hurricane regions on a map or globe.
